S.A.B. Admissions
The sports academy accepts applicants from age12, to the historic heart of Berlin, Germany. A good grade point average, and strong English and or German language skills are required. Applicants with poor previous scholastic or behavioral records cannot be accepted. Only applications, with all completed requirements are accepted. Join S.A.B. for a one- or two-year academic term from August to July. The application deadline for the Premium Blue Sports program is February 28th. For mid-term admission starting in January, applications are due by August 1st. For a special customized program package option, contact S.A.B. for more information.
International Standard Size Courts
To be considered for admission, applicants should do the following:
· Complete an application form
· Submit the last 2 current report cards translated in English or German (PDF format only)
· Provide a sports highlight video (YouTube or TikTok link)
Highlight videos must include:
Soccer game situations (max 1 minute)
· scenes of positions defending on
a) strikers - offensive actions
b) defenders - defensive actions, tackles & playmaking
· footwork (both feet) controlling & passing the ball
Individual skills
· ball juggling (right & left)
· head kick skills
Athletic Skills
· speed test over 20m
· running agility and dribbling test
As quickly as possible, the running agility test is without the ball, the dribbling test with the ball. The course is marked by six poles and is run through in the form of a slalom. Times are measured with a stopwatch. For the dribbling test, the ball lies on the start line at the start.
Basketball game situations (max 2 minutes)
· offense: 5 on 5 and 1 on 1 situations, creation of shots, catch and shoot, getting open and cuts, dribble drive
· defense: 1 on 1 situations, footwork individual skills - dribble parcours / slalom with shooting and lay-ups
Trial Week Berlin
A trial week is a mandatory requirement for the Premium Blue Sports program. It is an opportunity to be pre-evaluated by professionals, at top Berlin sports clubs and demonstrate an athlete’s skills. For coaches, it allows for an in-depth evaluation of each participant's readiness across different athletic metrics.
It takes place over 3- 4 days and typically involves individual training + team training + advanced technology testing. Atrial week date will be discussed and arranged for applicants. After your application is submitted, reviewed, and a trial week is arranged, you'll receive a list of private international school partners for potential interviews, tests, or trial days.
Trial Performance Assessment – created for athletes interested in an individual assessment of their skills. Over 2 days, it includes consultation, advanced technology testing and comprehensive review to assist the athlete make informed sports career decisions.
Admissions Process
· Apply - complete online application form
· Review - information submitted is reviewed, including report cards and sports highlight videos and you will be contacted within 48 hours
· Trial Week Berlin – a date is confirmed, and payment is required. Mandatory for Premium Blue Sports package. *500 € credit with signed two year contract
· Offer - S.A.B. offers a contract when applicant receives a positive evaluation from a sports club team
· Confirmation of Admission – all required documents are completed and a signed contract is returned within 7 days. Bank details will be provided and payment should be made within 14 days via bank transfer.
International School Applications
At least 2-3 applications should be submitted, as availability and acceptance is not guaranteed at any school.

More Information
S.A.B. recommends contacting the German Embassy in your home country to assist with the German visa requirements and application. Once the school admissions process has been completed, (a signed contract), the school can provide a confirmation document. A host family is possible. Your child will be matched to a wonderful German family and all requests will be considered when making a choice. A Boarding School option is only available for applicants, starting from grade 9.
